Sven Sabastian

Growing up in Düsseldorf, Sven made quite a name for himself prior to joining Der Aresenics. The son of a schokolade maker, Sven spent 7 years at the prestigious German School of Music before releasing seven multi-platinum children albums. His success peeked in 1998 when he swept the ECHO awards for the second year in a row. After the awards show, Sven was quoted as saying he wanted to take a break from the limelight. He went back to Düsseldorf to help his father with the family business. One day while working on the conveyor belt wrapping schokolade, Sven began to question where his life was going. He had gone through seven, or was it eight, failed marriages and forsaken his true love, music. He soon found himself aimlessly wondering the streets for hours at a time. One night as fate would have it, while dropping tears into his pint of Heidelberger Beer, Sven found himself seated next to the one and only Hans Killgore. As the two began to talk, Hans recognized Sven and talked him into joining his band. The rest, as Sven says, is history. And Sven isn’t just lucky in music. He has finally found luck in love. In 2003, he returned to his hometown for a brief time to help his did with a schokolade meltdown. That is when he met Edeline, the girl of his dreams. Married for almost 5 years now, Sven has shattered his previous record of 78 days. The success is partially due to the befitting toast that Hans gave at their wedding. “Now dance time!”
